Criteria: New to the University Tennis Academy
Unconscious Incompetence -This is your starting point, because everyone has to start somewhere. You may not be inexperienced when it comes to tennis, but you’re new to the the University Tennis Academy and we’re happy to have you.
Criteria: Complete one semester of group coaching classes (12 weeks)
Conscious Incompetence – You’ve made a start and have a grasp on what we’re about. However, you’re still aware that you’re not there yet. Keep getting involved in everything tennis, and you’ll rise up the ranks quickly.
Benefits: Points multiplier x1.5
Criteria: Complete one year of group coaching classes (24 weeks), plus at least one private lesson.
Conscious Competence – Now you’ve got some hours under your belt. You’re willing to take action and are aware of what makes a good tennis player. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Benefits: Points multiplier x2
Criteria: Complete two years of group coaching classes (48 weeks), plus at least three private lessons.
Unconscious Competence – You’re starting to make a name for yourself, and play tennis with the freedom of not having to think about what you’re doing. With this new commitment comes better rewards.
Benefits: Points multiplier x5
Criteria: Complete four years of group coaching classes (96 weeks), plus at least five private lessons.
You’ve reached the top (for now). Make sure you acknowledge and celebrate the hard work you’ve put in, and reap the benefits. You should never stop looking to improve though, so don’t rest here…
Benefits: Points multiplier x10
Attend a group lesson = 5 points
Attend a private lesson = 20 points
Attend developmental matchplay = 5 points
No absences for a term = bonus 10 points
No absences for a semester = bonus 30 points
Submit a review = 20 points (one time only)

All of our group and private lessons incorporate video analysis at some point during the term. Video analysis provides you with an objective view of your game, and makes putting into practice the technical elements much easier. We specialise in video analysis, so prepare to have your game improve all thanks to technology!
In addition to the analysis conducted within group lessons, we also offer advanced biomechanical reporting of your strokes for $30.

Melbourne University students who are willing to represent the University in weekly pennant and at the Australian University Games may be eligible for an elite athlete scholarship.
Eligibility is on a case by case basis, but players are generally at a pennant grade 1 or higher standard.
Scholarships come with a range of benefits, from University entry help with meeting course pre-requisites for new students, to financial help with training, gym membership and travel and tournament costs. Inquire for more information.
