UTA Terms and Conditions

Enrollment and Registration

  • By enrolling in our programs the client agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.
  • Registration is subject to availability and may be refused or terminated at the academy's discretion.
  • All our fees are specified in our online schedule which may be subject to change.
  • Payment is due in advance and failure to make timely payments may result in suspension or termination of your class.


Make Up Lessons

  • Make up lessons are only granted for severe injuries/illness with doctor’s notes.
  • Make-up lessons are to be requested at least 72 business hours prior to the lesson time via email only.
  • Make-up lessons cannot be carried over to the following term.
  • A maximum of 1 make-up lesson is allowed per term and cannot be carried over to another term.
  • If a player misses more than 2 group classes per term due to other reasons than mentioned here, their term will be forfeited and they will be withdrawn from the class at the full fee.
  • Players must be available on alternate days/times to attend any scheduled make-up lessons. If make-up lessons are scheduled players are expected to attend.
  • Each term is 7 weeks with the make up lesson being on the 7th week if needed. Players must be available at their set time for a make up lesson.
  • For semi-private classes, at least 1 player must attend the class if the other is unable to attend due to the above reasons, otherwise charges apply.
  • For private group lessons, group members must attend as a whole or in part. If any member from the private group is missing they cannot attend other group lessons in lieu.
  • For private lessons that begin their lesson and is affected by rain, their lesson is pro-rated for the following lesson.


Cancellations/Refunds

  • All refunds and/or cancellations will incur a 20% fee of the total fee paid and forfeit any prior discounts.
  • Players who require a refund will need to pay the online fees associated with the transactions.


Court Rules

  • All players are to wear non-marking shoes to the courts.
  • Players are advised to bring their own racquets to classes, but in the event of this not being possible, spare racquets are available in limited quantity.
  • Please handle any equipment with care and respect. Players are kindly asked if any tennis balls go over the fence to please retrieve the balls when time permits or after the lesson.
  • Players are fully responsible for their personal belongings.
  • Players are expected to abide by the behaviour Code of conduct outlined by the University, the tennis club and encompassing any in these terms and conditions.
  • It is at the discretion of coaches and staff to cancel a player's lesson at any time.


Weather

Tennis Australia Guidelines on Extreme Weather Policy will be used. This can be found on their website. This covers extreme heat/thermal comfort, rain/flood/hail, thunderstorms and lightning, high wind and sand/dust/smoke (airborne contaminants).

In the case of extreme weather conditions the coach will notify all players if the lesson is cancelled as early as possible and make best judgment.


Copyright

All information on the our website is the sole property of the University Tennis Academy. Under no circumstances are the players to use or distribute or copy this information. Strict copyright laws apply.


Medical and Liability

By agreeing to these terms and conditions you authorise the staff of the University Tennis Academy to act according to their best judgment in any emergency requiring medical attention. You release the University Tennis Academy from any and all liability for injury or illness and costs incurred while undertaking a program or event with the University Tennis Academy.

Photography

By agreeing to these terms you acknowledge that the University Tennis Academy may film, use video analysis and photography during programs, lessons and events. You acknowledge and agree that this usage, including for marketing & promotion purposes, is without compensation. Images may be used on our website, social media and other promotional avenues.

Agreement

We reserve the right to cancel your lesson(s), to make changes to your classes and to the above terms and conditions at any time. Melbourne University and University Tennis Academy have reserve the right to refuse involvement of a patron in our program, entry of the person onto the premises and any services we offer at any time without notice. By signing up for our programs you are agreeing to all of the above terms and conditions and taking full responsibility for them.


Amendments

  • These terms and conditions may be amended by University Tennis Academy with reasonable notice.
  • By enrolling in our programs the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
